It's finally officially summer, and even before the season began, my opinion of it remained the same.
Summer is no fun anymore.
Sure, I did enjoy that little hit of nostalgia the other evening when feline charge Tomkin stayed out in the garden long enough for the fireflies to come out. I did have to fight the urge to find a jar or just use my hands to trap one for a few moments. It was a mild summer day, which we don't get much anymore. The day Tomkin's parents came back, on the other hand, was hot and muggy, and still he insisted he stay out longer (I declined his entreaties and carried his fuzzy butt back inside where it was cool and he had tuna and fresh cold water on demand).
