“If we can overcome individualism, we will truly be able to develop a different lifestyle and bring about significant changes in society.” (LS 203)
Our proposal is a new lifestyle, in line with Pope Francis’ Encyclical Letter Laudato si’, to promote the care for the common house, cultivating respectful forms of relationship with creation. The project consists of a series of 6 videos plus 1 worksheet, which can be used separately in 6 work sessions. It is designed for young and adult people, and can be used in parishes, schools, base ecclesial communities, movements, Congregations, Scout groups, among many others.
The “new lifestyle” has gained importance starting from the realization that our consumer societies’ lifestyles are unsustainable, and clearly contrast with the responsibility towards the poor, the planet and the future generations.
The “new lifestyle” is a way of resisting the manipulations of the system and of those who hold the socioeconomic, financial, political and cultural power, who want to make us believe that happiness lies in consumerism.
