With an event named Bacon & Eggonomics you might eggspect some wordplay.
Students from Baker Elementary were up to the task at the Economics Arkansas event on July 19. The students spoke about the economic activities and programs they participate in while slipping an eggscellent egg pun here and there. The three, Simon Wu, Emma Gulick and Cashel Deere, are the students of Jamie Garmon, a master economics teacher at Baker.
Keynote speaker was Steve Forbes, chairman and editor-in-chief of Forbes Media. He was introduced by Rob Chatfield of Free to Choose Network. Afterward, Mitch Bettis with Arkansas Business Publishing Group led a Q&A with Forbes.
Economics Arkansas provides elementary through high school teachers the resources and training on how to incorporate principles of economics and personal finance into the classroom curriculum.
