Carjacking reported by homeless owner

A man told police the car he had been living in was stolen in southwest Little Rock early Thursday by two men who pulled him out of the vehicle and beat him.

Wesley Vasquez, 31, told police he was stopped at Baseline and Geyer Springs roads shortly after midnight. when the robbers approached his car, a white Hyundai Elantra he had bought five days earlier, according to a police report.

Vasquez said the men struck him in the face through the open driver-side window and pulled him out of the car, the report says.

He said one of the men kicked him in the ribs, jumped in his car and drove away, the report says.

The report doesn't say whether the other robber was also in the car as it drove off.
