Michael Goudeau's sixth-inning grand slam sparked Texas Southern to a home rout at MacGregor Park in Houston.
Goudeau also hit a solo home run in the fifth inning for the Tigers, who've beaten the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff five consecutive times. Texas Southern (22-23, 18-6 Southwestern Athletic Conference) led 4-2 going into the bottom of the sixth inning, but that lead swelled to 10 after it scored six runs in the frame.
The Tigers pushed across two more runs in the eighth to put the finishing touches on the blowout win. Goudeam had 3 hits, scored 2 runs and drove in six for Texas Southern. Nin Burns and Tyler Williams also batted in two runs each.
