The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff will christen in its 2024 college football campaign in just 43 days, but Coach Alonzo Hampton wouldn't mind seeing his team start off the year the same way they ended 2023.
After finishing 2-9 a season ago, the Golden Lions will have a slew of new faces on the field when they open preseason fall camp July 28 in Pine Bluff. Hampton is optimistic that change will be good for his group, especially after the rough patches they experienced in his debut season.
"I'm obviously excited about Year 2," he said Tuesday during the Southwestern Athletic Conference media day at the Sheraton Hotel in Birmingham, Ala. "Going in with a new coaching staff and about 50 new players.
