In just its second year in the Ohio Valley Conference, Arkansas-Little Rock was named co-champions of the OVC Commissioner's Cup along with Eastern Illinois, the conference announced in a news release Tuesday.
UALR and Eastern Illinois both finished the 2023-24 academic year with 110.5 points in a scoring system that allows each university to count 13 sports towards its respective score. Points are distributed based on the number of schools that sponsor the sport under the OVC umbrella. Southeast Missouri State was the only other program to reach the 100-point mark, finishing third place overall with 101 points.
The Trojans secured first-place finishes this year in men's basketball, women's golf, baseball, along with men's indoor and outdoor track and field. The university also picked up second-place finishes in women's basketball as well as women's indoor and outdoor track and field.
