Slade Caldwell's been quite occupied since his high school baseball career officially ended after he led Valley View to the Class 5A state title in May.
Staying busy, though, has become the norm for the 5-9, 182-pound outfielder, who will probably see an uptick in activity sooner rather than later because of what is likely to transpire.
Caldwell is expected to hear his named called when the MLB Draft kicks off. The three-day, 20-round event is set to begin at 6 p.m. Sunday and will be held at the Cowtown Coliseum in Fort Worth, but the four-time all-state player noted that he will be surrounded by his family and friends during a watch party in his hometown in northeast Arkansas when the draft unfolds.
