The 19th annual Real Deal in the Rock basketball tournament kicked off Friday evening in Little Rock and surrounding areas. The organizers bill the event as a youth grassroots AAU tournament that features high-caliber teams with ages ranging from 9 to 17.
The Arkansas Hawks AAU program is the host, and teams travel from all over the region as well as other parts of the country to compete. The main court for the tournament is Gryphon Arena at Little Rock Southwest High School. Games will also be played at Summerwood Sports in Bryant and the Southwest Community Center in Little Rock.
Scott Robinson is the head coach of the Hawks 16U team and he spoke on what the event means to the program.
