A 9-4 record would be a great accomplishment for most high school teams around Arkansas.
Junction City, though, isn't your average program.
Since 2006, the Dragons have won 10 games or more 10 times and captured 6 state championships, so the expectations are a bit higher for the southern Arkansas powerhouse. However, the nine wins did equal the amount of victories the team had in 2021 and 2022 combined so for head coach Devin Ball, there's nowhere to go but up.
"The times ahead for us at Junction City are bright," he said Thursday during Big Miller football media days at First Community Bank in Little Rock. "We aim to meet everything with aggression going forward, which was the opposite of last year.
