I was watching Donald Trump's rally live on television when I saw Trump grab his right ear and fall behind his lectern. I could hear the "popping" sound of gunshots. When it was clear that Trump had survived relatively unharmed, I knew that Mike Masterson would write a piece in your paper attributing Trump's close encounter with death to a GodNod, as he calls it. And there it was in Tuesday's paper, with the heading "Trump's GodNod." Masterson confidently and smugly wrote, "In other words, the former president was, indeed, spared not by coincidence, but a GodNod that saved him from being flown back to Florida in a casket."
Really? Come now, how can Mr. Masterson be so sure? I wish he would explain why God would intervene to spare the life of Donald Trump but stood by and did nothing to spare from an assassin's bullet the lives of Abraham Lincoln, John F.
