HOT SPRINGS -- Visit Hot Springs is joining in the celebration of Mystik Dan's Kentucky Derby win by releasing 30,000 trading cards featuring the 3-year-old bay colt during the race.
A caption on the back of the cards mentions the local connections of "ordinary Arkansans" as well as the accomplishments of the millionaire horse, which include a win of the Southwest Stakes and a third-place finish in the Arkansas Derby.
"It's just an exciting time for Hot Springs and for Arkansas to have somebody that had local ownership in the horse that wins the Kentucky Derby," Steve Arrison, CEO of Visit Hot Springs, said.
Previous Visit Hot Springs trading cards featuring racing have included cards for Smarty Jones, Zenyatta, American Pharoah and Hall of Fame jockey Calvin Borel.
