BUFFALO CITY -- I don't want to have another day like the one I had Sunday on the White River.
The occasion was a trout fishing trip with my lifelong friend Kathleen Anderson and her son Patrick Anderson, 29, both of San Francisco. Anderson and I have been best friends since eighth grade at Forest Heights Junior High. We graduated from Central High School in 1982, and she moved to California. She now serves on the California State Parks Commission and the San Francisco Recreation and Parks Commission.
Kathleen, an avid angler, wanted to wedge a fishing trip into her busy schedule. I suspect it was a pretense to enjoy some quality time with her son, who will soon relocate to Boston.
