UAPB challenges UA

The Golden Lions will have their season opener against the University of Arkansas on Aug. 29 and their Oct. 11 mid-season conference matchup with Prairie View A&M shown nationally on ESPNU. Their showdown with Jackson State on Nov. 2 will be streamed on ESPN-Plus. However, UAPB will have four home games aired on the league's digital network, including in-state clashes against Arkansas Baptist on Sept. 7 and the University of Central Arkansas on Sept. 21, and four others broadcast on hbcugo.tv.

UAPB, which has posted a 7-26 record over the past three seasons, was chosen fifth in the SWAC's West Division preseason poll. Last year, the Golden Lions were tabbed sixth and ended up finishing in that spot despite beating Texas Southern 35-34 in the regular-season finale.
