The state of Arkansas will have no representative at the NCAA men's golf championships for the first time in four years.
No. 8 University of Arkansas struggled in the final round and Arkansas State's late push was not enough to advance out of the NCAA Austin (Texas) Regional on Wednesday.
The Razorbacks shot a 16-over 300 on Wednesday, the second-worst round of the day, and wound up at 20 over and in 10th place at the regional. The Red Wolves had an 11 over Wednesday and their 17 over was ninth at the regional and 17 shots out of the playoff for fifth place between BYU and Wake Forest, won in one playoff hole by the Demon Deacons.
The top five teams from each of six regionals will compete for the NCAA Championship starting May 24 in Carlsbad, Calif.
