The University of Central Arkansas overcame an early deficit Friday, but it allowed two late runs in a loss to Stetson in DeLand, Fla.
Stetson (36-19, 19-10 ASUN) opened the scoring in the first inning with a sacrifice fly from Logan Hughes, then tacked on three runs to take a 4-0 lead in the next inning thanks to another RBI from Hughes and a two-run home run by Jayden Hylton.
UCA (23-28, 12-17) cut the lead in half with RBI hits from Drew Sturgeon and Bryce Cermenelli in the third inning before AJ Mendolia tied it in the fourth with a two-run single.
Stetson retook the lead in the fifth inning with a solo home run by Landon Moran.
