No more dogs, but Southland full of fun

WEST MEMPHIS -- An unofficial count while walking through the parking lot indicated the majority of those playing in Southland Casino were from Tennessee.

Less than 30 minutes south of Memphis used to be the mecca of casino gambling in Tunica, Miss., but now there is talk of turning one of the abandoned casinos into a home for migrant children.

Southland is obviously now the preferred casino in that area with its Lucky North Club benefits and enough free Pepsi products to bring the Mississippi River up a couple of feet.

Currently Arkansas has three casinos, and all will be written about over the next few weeks and the lesson was learned from this paper's great restaurant reviewer, Eric Harrison: Do it incognito.
