McWhorter rescinds commitment to Hogs

Class of 2026 offensive lineman Bear McWhorter, who has been committed to the University of Arkansas since August of last year, announced he's reopening his recruitment.

McWhorter, 6-4 and 295 pounds, of Cass (Ga.) High School had offers from Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Ole Miss, Penn State, Texas, Louisville, Mississippi State and North Carolina State and others when he chose the Hogs.

ESPN and Rivals rate him a 4-star recruit while ESPN lists him the No. 7 offensive guard and No. 183 overall recruit nationally for his class.

He received national attention as an eighth grader after renting a billboard on Interstate 49 near Fayetteville which read, "Coach Pittman, I want to be a Hog."

He posted his decision on social media.

"De-committing is something that never even crossed my mind last August when I committed to the Razorbacks.
