UA kicker pledge resists other visits

Nationally ranked kicker Evan Noel committed to the University of Arkansas last fall and has resisted other schools trying to get him to visit.

"I still had Ole Miss and Florida talk to me," Noel said. "They still want me to visit them. I've been pretty loyal to Arkansas. I haven't gone anywhere else."

Noel, 6-2 and 155 pounds, of Bay St. Louis (Miss.) Saint Stanislaus Catholic, picked Arkansas over a scholarship offer from Ole Miss and interest from Georgia, Florida and other programs.

Kohl's Kicking rated him the No. 1 kicker in the nation in his class at the time of his pledge to the Hogs. The service now has him ranked No. 2 nationally.

Noel made 8 of 12 field goals with a long of 49 yards and had 49 touchbacks in 63 kickoffs as a junior.
