FAYETTEVILLE -- Training camp starts Wednesday for the Arkansas Razorback football squad and it's a big one for fifth-year Coach Sam Pittman.
After a 4-8 season that dropped Pittman's overall record to 23-25, he understands his tenure depends on a productive season and quite likely a bowl berth.
The Razorbacks will get going a couple of days earlier than most teams as their opener against Arkansas-Pine Bluff is on Thursday, Aug. 29, two days prior to the originally scheduled date.
Moving up the season opener in Little Rock will give Arkansas extra time to prepare for its Week 2 marquee nonconference matchup at Oklahoma State, which will host South Dakota State on Aug. 31.
Pittman and strength and conditioning coach Ben Sowders will talk to media members Tuesday regarding camp goals, summer improvements and health updates.
