FAYETTEVILLE -- Here's hoping it's a good summer for Redwine in France.
Former University of Arkansas All-American runner Stanley Redwine is leading the United States men's track and field team as its head coach for the Paris Olympics.
Redwine, 63, has been coach of the Kansas men's and women's teams for 24 years.
Before he became a Jayhawk, Redwine was a four-time All-American at Arkansas from 1980-83 and a Razorback assistant coach for nine years from 1985-94, helping the program become a national power under legendary Coach John McDonnell. He left Arkansas to be Tulsa's head coach for six years before landing the Kansas job.
Former Arkansas NCAA champion distance runner and Olympian Amy Yoder Begley also is on the U.S. coaching staff as an assistant for the women's team.
