Jacksonville police on Monday evening arrested a woman who authorities say shot at another woman, sending a bullet through the walls of a neighbor's apartment where two children and their mother were resting, an arrest report states.

Officers responded around 6:36 p.m. to a shots fired call at the Meadowbrook Apartments at 1301 S. First St., where they spoke with a woman who said a bullet had come through the wall of her apartment while she was laying in bed with her daughter, 5, and her son, 9, the report states.

Tracing the apparent trajectory of the bullet, police found a witness sitting on her balcony who said that Kia Lewis, 21, of Jacksonville, shot at another woman outside who was trying to fight, the report states.
